They are in bondage to sin.

Although most of us would consider ourselves “good” people, the truth is that we have all come short of God’s holy standard. We have lived for ourselves, satisfying our own sinful desires.

We have been liars, thieves, and adulterers. With our hearts we have been bitter, jealous, greedy, and hateful. WE have ignored the one true God who gave us life. We have rebelled against Him in our thoughts and our actions.

Our sins have separated us from our Maker.

God is holy. He must, in righteousness, punish our sins not only in this life, but in eternity to come in a place called hell.

But this same righteous God is also a God of love. He does not desire any man to perish but that all might be saved and have eternal life. 2000 years ago, for the sake of mankind, He gave His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die on a cross in our place, to pay the fine for our sins. By His death, burial, and resurrection, Jesus made a way for sinful man to be made right with God.

To receive this mercy and salvation, we must humble ourselves, repent of our sins, and put our faith in what Jesus did for us. In Christ alone there is forgiveness of sin and peace with God.

Forsake all and follow Him. He is our only hope.
